TUMBLING/ACRO FOR DANCE
Tumbling is an acrobatic sporting discipline that involves exercises intended to build & improve overall coordination, flexibility, strength, balance & agility.
The tumbling/acro for dance & cheer program at DEI will enhance dance choreography & develop cheerleading skills.

BALLET
Classical ballet works on the foundational techniques required to progress
in all other dance forms. Strength, balance, and flexibility are developed and enhanced, along with a complete knowledge of ballet terminology. This form of dance is graceful and is often performed to the accompaniment of classical music.

TAP
In this class, rhythm and musicality are developed and enhanced. Tap is excellent for the development of fine motor skills as well as building stamina and cardiovascular conditioning.

HIP HOP
High energy, fast-paced, urban dance styles which include foundational elements with creative choreography & expressions that are performed to hip-hop music. Popular movements and music are always age-appropriate.

JAZZ/TECHNIQUE
Jazz has a strong emphasis on control, style and fluidity of movement. It is technically challenging, ballet-based class with wider range of motion. It is performed to various types of music. We highly recommend that students continue taking their ballet training while taking jazz.
Proper strengthening exercises stretching program for maximum flexibility are taught. This is an excellent class for improving turns, leaps & jumps.

LYRICAL/CONTEMPORARY
Set to balled music, ballet, jazz & modern based techniques are combined to present an interpretation of song lyrics with emotional expression.

This program is designed to build self-confidence, teach sportsmanship, teamwork & enthusiasm as your child builds lasting friendships! Cheerleaders engage in physical conditioning, learn cheers, jumps dances & stunts to equip them to continue on in our cheer & dance comapny programs & school sponsored teams! Participants will get a set of pom-poms!

POINTE
Pointe is NOT a separate study, class or technique. The principles of classical ballet movement are the principles of pointe work too! Pointe is simply another ballet skill to be practiced and mastered. The ability to do pointe is the end result of slow and gradual ballet training & proper technical placement of the whole body combined with the coordination of movement. Dancers must be 14 or older (director exceptions may be made).
*Dancers must have teacher & director approval & must audition for this class.
